Ideas on finding a sitter

I don't know which forum this question belongs in, but I have had the hardest time finding a reliable sitter. I have used some high school girls, but once the school year starts it is hard to find time in their schedules (between cheerleading, lacrosse, etc.) Does anyone use sittercity or white house nannies? What service do you use and/or recommend?
