How come some Clubs are hosting ECNL ID sessions before the designated start tryout date March 1?
Is it for non-ECNL players? |
| They explicitly say for non-ECNL players. If an ECNL player is thinking of making a move, are they at least permitted to reach out to the team's current coach to get on their radar? (I assume Coaches cannot reach out until after the 1st) |
| Let's be honest, nobody is enforcing that rule. Official tryouts begin after March 1st but for a lot of clubs, those are just a formality. |
Correct. Coaches can’t reach out but players can reach out to coach and say u r interested but official convo & offer will have to wait until March 1. |
Untrue. Clubs do get in trouble if another ECNL club files a complaint about it. Too many complaints will likely make the club at risk of losing the license. |

OooOoo... The ECNL police
GTFOH |
Soccer is a small world. IF a player is good enough and they want onto another team, they're already talking and the wheels are in motion ALREADY. |
Its doesn't say for non-ECNL players. At least for the club's website I'm looking at. |
| It's a race for the same players. Every year it seems to start earlier. Sprinkle in some coaching and league announcements and this is the best time of the year. |
| What happens if you are an ECNL player for another club and just show up to a ECNL tryout anyway? Who would tell on you? |
Nobody would tell the ECNL police, don't worry about it. |
Don’t worry about it just go! |
But the quote of your club would file a formal complaint with ECNL! |

| Which clubs are hosting tryouts? We play for MLS Next but want to go for some extra training and smoke those ECNL kids. |
