Congrats to the DC public high school students who are candidates for the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program
Walls had the most overall but BASIS had by far the most per capita. Paul, a school no one talks about here, also did well. Walls 12/150 Basis 9/45 J-R 7/500 Paul 5/110 Latin 4/95 DCI 4/200 Banneker 2/170 https://www.ed.gov/grants-and-programs/recognition-programs/us-presidential-scholars-program |
Looks like DCI had 7 |
My kid is on this list! But um, what does it mean? |
Coolidge also had a student make the list, as did Ellington. |
Dunbar too! |
McKinley Tech also has a student. |
And Friendship PCS |
That they had near-perfect standardized test scores or special achievement in tech or the arts. |
I'm PP, and my kid had a pretty strong but not perfect SAT score (1550). Now that they've gotten the email explaining it, they need to decide whether to apply. I'm encouraging it. |
If you look a the list, anybody with asterisks next to their name was nominated for something other than their SAT score.
Looks like 2 of the Paul Charter school kids were nominated on this basis. |
congrats to all!
