9 year old boy height and feet size

Anonymous
He is 9 year old with 52" tall and size 3 shoe size. I think he has been staying at 52" tall for really long time like a year, and his weight is like 62 lbs staying around the same for a long time. His dad has big feet like size 12 with 6' tall, but I am average height. He is on the short side at basketball team. My son is a picky eater, no veggie, no soup and limited dairy. I hear about some families taking their kids to see endocrinologist for wrist x ray , when should I know I need to be worried? He has quite many leg hairs, is that a sign of puberty?

I dont really understand your question but my 9 year old is 4 11 and 88 lbs. He is on the big side for his age. But not outside the range of normal. He has friends that are taller, not many that weigh more though. He has always been stocky. (No fat whatsoever tho, just a big solid build).

Kids that age are all over the place. I have a 9 year old girl who is 54" and 70 pounds (50th percentile for girls) and a 4 year old boy who is 50" and 52 pounds (99th percentile for boys). Its a crap shoot.

PP - 9 year old girl wears a size 4 shoe and 4 year old boy wears a size 1 shoe.

Op here. I am worried that he may hit puberty too early because he eats a lot of junk food diet as a picky eater.

Wow, is that 50% for girls? My son was 66 lbs and was in the 85 percentile for boys. he's 8.5. He's also 90 percentile for height. He's maybe now 72 lbs but I thought he was tracking for 80-90 in weight.

It’s fine. Quit worrying.

Also surprised that 70 lbs would be 50% for girls! I would think its 80%.

That's not how that works.

My 9 (almost 10) year old boy loves junk food. No puberty signs in sight. He just hit 80 pounds and wears a size 4.5 in shoes. I don't know how tall he is but he's on the tall side for his age-like in a group he's on the tall end of the spectrum but not the tallest.

+1. Obesity can cause earlier puberty, but diet alone does not. He's fine, OP. Talk to his pediatrician if you are anxious.

Except for the junk food - you should fix that.
