Dual enrollment credit

Does anyone have experience with their student taking a dual enrollment class that was not on the pre-approved OSSE list and applying for dual credit? How long did it take for OSSE to approve the class and for it to show up on your DC's report card? Was it available on Aspen?

I'm not sure about the pre-approved list because my kid has always managed this on her own, but she's taken three classes at GW. They do not show up on her report card or in Aspen.

Having said that, she did these as extra classes, not as one of her seven, so your situation may be different?

Our DCPS HS said that the courses would not be factored into GPA or appear on the transcript.

The Dual credit request specifically states that
“ When taking a college course for Dual Credit, students and families understand that grades earned will be reported on the official DCPS high school transcript regardless of the grade earned (A through F, including withdrawals) and that DCPS credit will only be awarded for approved courses which are completed and passed with a grade of C or better. This grade will be calculated with the weight of an AP course as a part of each student’s GPA.”


My question is specifically about non-pre approved courses
