| Is this really unusual? I've never had my ears pierced, and although once in a great while I have worn a necklace or bracelet it's not long before I get a sense of being imprisoned or something and I just want to be free of it. |
| I'm the same. I never wear jewelry |
| Same - stud type earrings I don’t feel but anything heavier and watches, rings, bracelets etc are always such a relief to take off. |
| I like earrings but everything else no. I definitely cannot wear rings. |
|
Sensory sensitivity or sensory avoidance. Lots of autistic people are like this, but it's limited to that group. It's like tags and labels on clothing, or certain fabrics that don't have the right hand-feel, etc.
I don't like to wear jewelry all that much, because it feels too "hard". But I do wear favorite rings/earrings/necklaces every now and then, except bracelets - they get in the way of things. |
| sorry, it's NOT limited to that group. |
| I take off any and all jewelry the moment I step inside my house. It feels fine when I'm out, but as soon as I'm home it feels like it's weighing me down and in the way. |
NP, and I'm like this too. I take everything off in the kitchen the minute I walk in the door. |
| I’m definitely in this category. I wear diamond studs every day and I can’t feel them and have grown accustom to a watch and my engagement and wedding rings. I cannot tolerate earrings other than studs, brackets or necklaces unless they’re really lightweight. |
I’m this way about clothing and jewelry. |
|
I hate the way it feels. I grudgingly wore my wedding band until I got it caught on something in my basement while reaching for a light switch, and I nearly lost my finger—luckily my ring gave way and broke after giving me a nasty deep gash.
After that? No more jewelry. |
| I’m glad I’m not the only one like this. I can wear my ring(one), a watch with a leather band, and stud earrings. No bracelets, necklaces or dangly earrings. Clothing tags are a problem. My mother was the same. |
|
I’m the same way.
I dislike bracelets the most and stopped wearing rings. Earrings are okay now and then. |
| I only wear my wedding band. I'm allergic to nickel and most earrings make me itch. I occasionally wear a cheap necklace but I feel like I'm super girly looking already. No need to add more. Also why I never wear florals or ruffles. |
| Over time I stopped wearing most jewelry. My ears started bleeding if I wore earrings. Necklaces get tangled with my work badge. Now it all feels suffocating. I would love to stop, wearing my wedding ring but fear it would offend my husband. |
