High Map-m scores for 5th grader

Just wondering what's considered a very high score for a 5th grader? We heard a 5th grader got a 285 in Map-M, which may be the highest in the school?

Who did you hear it from? Kids like to lie about this.

That’s definitely high. Keep in mind that you have people sending their kids to math cram schools and tutoring. This stuff all evens out in the magnet HS when the untutored smart kids are exposed to the same content.

It might be true or it could be a lie. Kids lie.

It makes no sense why the MAP tests reveal scores immediately to the tester when no other test does this.

There are two different versions of MAP M that can be administered in 5th grade, depending on whether the student is in compacted math or not. It’s not a strict apples to apples comparison of scores without knowing which test.

Right, other tests should also.
