D1,D2 and D3 minimum GPA

It looks like recruitment for men's D1, D2, and D3 colleges has begun for the Class of 2026. I understand that some D3 schools require a minimum GPA of 3.0, and some better schools may require more than 3.0. What are the minimum GPA requirements for D1 and D2??

Admission GPA requirements are unique per school and different from playing eligibility requirements. NCAA D1 eligibility is 2.3.

It varies by school. My son has been told to aim for a 3.8 to have maximum options (not considering elite academic schools). The coach who helps him with recruiting told him that he doesn’t want to see athletes with lower than a 3.5 but i’m sure there are plenty of schools that would find a 3.0 acceptable.

The minimum only applies to truly gifted (and recruited). But for most athletes, it's 3.0 for D1 and 3.5 for D3.
