Capitol Hill area

Is it common to try to enter the lottery again (for PreK) due to disappointment with PS lottery spot? I'm curious if there is a significant shift in kids between PS and PK in Capitol Hill Schools.

I think there are some shifts caused by Peabody and 2-Rivers having significant intakes at Pre-K 4. I also think a significant percentage of folks at Tyler, JO Wilson and even Maury probably re-enter for pre-k 4, even if they are happy. If they get lucky, then they can decide whether to switch their kid.

also some families switch to Dapitol HIll Day or St. Peters for PreK- freeing up some DCPS PreK spots

Interesting--I was thinking about Capitol Hill Day for PreK.

There are def spots for PK. People move around, people move away, etc. etc. K also. I got both of my kids into 2 different school at the K level because the class size goes up and some kids move off to privates or suburbs or wherever.
