How likely will such bill (or similar bills) be passed? I already feel anxious about RTO 5 days a week (current: local remote employee, not enough office space) since election, relocation out of DC metro area (selling house, buying new house, etc) will be far worse than RTO to office 5 days a week. If they force to relocate 30% out of DC area, I could be at high risk (who does not have office space).

I don't mind if they want to reduce headcount in DC headquarter, but don't affect current employees, just hire more people in regional offices in the future (move more tasks to regional offices). Headquarter employees can be gradually reduced through retirements, there are always people retiring/leaving.

Why people don't just leave me alone and let me do the job for some more years? I will retire as soon as I reach MRA, or give me early retirement at age 50 (not even 50 years old yet). I am tired of drama, and absolutely no plan to work till age 62.

1) bill unlikely to even move to a vote
2) bill unlikely to pass even if moved to vote
3) requires setting up 2 headquarters

It would be a pay cut, but there is almost nowhere they could relocate us to that would have a worse pay to actual COL ratio. I was already considering a move back to the Midwest once kids out of school, and planning to take that “pay cut” but have much lower cost of living.

That said, the obvious real purpose is to get people to quit. They will roll out one thing after another to get people to quit, and will likely be left with the lowest performers, then they can just point fingers to how “ineffective” government is and just get rid of it all.
