It's a great name!
Anecdotally, most little Patricks are called Patrick until they're about 15. Then they're all Pat.

| I’m biased because I have a Patrick, but I do love it and think it’s a great choice. It’s been used as a middle name frequently in my family (it’s my Dad’s middle name) but rarely as a first name, so I chose it also to honor him. |
