PSA -- TAP Portugal

Warning that TAP's calls are being diverted to fraudsters. They just got $1300 from me and my friend. They were very good.

TAP knows about the problem and just said "sorry." I am not impressed with TAP for a number of reasons. (We canceled our trip altogether).

To followup. this is not the phising scheme TAP did note on its website.

We called the main TAP number to change our return flight. It diverted to a fraudster (TAP does apparantly divert overflow calls to third parties and clearly didn't vet this one or has no security on where they are diverting calls.)

That is so awful! They should be legally responsible for this.

That is terrible!!! I have had good experiences with Tap in the past in terms of flight experience.

I don't even know what TAP is. Is it when somebody calls one of their valid numbers? That's serious. Serious fraud.

Did you google the number or did you get the number off their website?

You can reverse the charge on your credit card. Credit cards come with fraud protection.

So they connected you to the fraudsters? And this was 100% the real TAP number that your originally called? Like you got this number from your confirmation email or their website or other completely reliable source? If so, it seems you'd probably be in a good spot to get back your money.

Was it this?

Or did you find the number directly on TAP's site?
