Moldy green bean in a bunch!

Anonymous
I just pulled out some green beans from a bunch in a bag, chopped them up and put them in my ground beef dish to cook.

Afterwards I saw some green beans remaining in the bunch were moldy...do I throw away my entire dish?

You should have washed the them first, and pulled out the bad ones.

You are fine, especially since you put them in a pan with beef (vs a quick blanch in a salad or something).

It's kind of like stirfried fungus.

The worst thing that can happen is diarrhea.

Anyway the food doesn’t sound tasty.

Yes, throw it away and always wash your vegetables and inspect them before putting into a dish.

If you chopped them, I think you'd have noticed if they were moldy. Probably fine.
