In November we will be celebrating a family milestone and want to celebrate. Kids will be 8, 7, and 3. We want somewhere warm and either US (including HI), Mexico or Caribbean. I don't really want to cruise and want something kids and parents will love.
Want to splurge a little given we are truly celebrating something that was worked very hard for. Would love any recs!! |
Puerto Rico. High 80s. |
Hawaii is great if you’re having a big celebration! |
Cabo is really lovely in November, although the beaches aren’t really swimmable for kids. How much time do you have? I’d probably do the Big Island if you have at least a week. |
Hawaii is hard if you are only going for a week with little kids. If you have more time that would be my first choice. Is it towards the end of November? If not I’d avoid most of the Caribbean - I’ve been evacuated twice from that area in early November due to late hurricanes. Never again! |
Aruba is south of the hurricane band.
Hawaii is always a good choice—we love Kaui but they are all great. Cabo does have a couple swimmable beaches — you just neeed to check that. There are also lots of great hotels in the western side of Mexico that rarely get hurricanes — like ixtapa. But you’d need to transfer in Mexico City. Costa Rica might be a good answer. Something like the Andaz which seems very popular? I think November might be the end of the rainy season. |
We went to the Wyndham Rio Mar in Puerto Rico one Thanksgiving and it was great. I think it would be some people’s splurge and some people’s cheap vacation—it’s all relative! |
You don’t say. Does anyone bother to read what they wrote before posting? |
Grand Cayman - Ritz or Kimpton. Nonstops usually on Southwest or United. |
Not the Ritz. Terrible service and not up to Ritz standards. Beach chair rows crowded, very close to each other and they allow adults to vape right next to you. |
St John is spectacular, and the second half of Nov should be okay. Wonderful hiking and amazing beaches |
