For the Accelerated Honors Biology and Honors Chemistry (LS +PS) class offered at Blair, does anyone know how the double period works? Is it a back to back double on the same day, or a class everyday (one on odd days and also on even day)? My rising 9th grader is wondering and school staff at the MS did not know the answer.
Thanks! |
| For magnet chemistry and physics in 9th at Blair it’s labeled a double period but is actually only one period. They call it that so that you can get a full credit in one semester. Not sure if this is the same? |
What are you referring to? Magnet or non Magnet? Do you have a Bulletin link? In magnet, they do Physics and Chemistry in 1 semester each in 9th grade. (earth science in 1 semester in 10th, and biology in 1 double-period semester in 10th). I recall seeing one web page that incorrectly claims that Chem and Bio are in the same year in the magnet. But they are not. But maybe non-magnet students , who at most schools can take regular chem and regular honors bio in 9th grade ,are allowed to join the Blair magnet accelerated classes in 9th grade, with guidance counselor and schedule permitting? |
| (regular honors chem and regular honors bio in 9th, that is) |
| It's a 90 minute block every day, instead of every other. |
What is "it", though? |
Where? |
| OP here: thanks everyone for your responses! I will let my kiddo know. |
