| This hasn't been publicized as widely as it deserves. I only learned about it from variable road signs on US 29 heading home from Charlottesville on Friday. Expecting traffic to be an ungodly mess next weekend, with alternate routes likely to be bad also. |
| How would it be any worse than any other weekend? Every time I go through there it’s a disaster. I’ve taken to either going through NWDC and Chain bridge to get to Annandale from Bethesda or going all the way around the beltway the other direction |

Agree with OP - this should be on every local news channel. After being appalled at the construction traffic for the past 18 months on 495, I contacted VDOT; they shared a website which I now receive alerts from. Had it not been for their email alert, I probably would not have known.

It can be worse. NB 495 through Tysons, normally 4 regular lanes and 2 express lanes, is going to be narrowed down to 2 lanes total. Other main roads through the area are going to have their own detours. The kind of road work that you'd normally see only in the wee hours of the night. |
| Does this impact express lanes through there? |
All traffic will be detoured onto the express lanes, so yes. |
| Vdot has been posting on social media and I saw it in a county supervisor newsletter. |
