We've been getting this at costco. Big tub is $8.
Was going to use it for cooking but I've just been eating it instead of my Greek yogurt. Has anyone here had it? (Should I be straight eating this? ) |
|
It's yogurt. Why could you not straight eat yogurt??

PSA from an American married to an Indian-American man: Dahi means yogurt in Hindi so when you say dahi yogurt, you’re basically saying ‘yogurt yogurt.’
Relatedly chai is tea in Hindi, so when you say chai tea, you’re basically saying ‘tea tea,’ |
| What PP said. Dahi is yogurt. Why would you think there was a problem with eating it? |
| And yes, we buy the orange container from Costco too because we make smoothies every morning and it is a GREAT deal for good quality yogurt. |
|
It’s runnier than Greek, so it works great for curd rice, lassis, stirred into soup, added to smoothies or using in baking or as a sour cream substitute.
I prefer something firmer to eat alone or with fruit so I get Greek yogurt or Skyr for that. |
Yes, everyone knows. And "PIN number" is redundant. Do you ever say "fava beans," "shiitake mushroom," or "ramen noodles," PP? Because you should work on that. There's some pedant running around here who does not understand the evolution of language and cross-cultural nuances. |
| I’m so confused what the question is. Yes, you can eat yogurt. It is not problematic just because it has an Indian term on it. |
| Are you asking whether you can eat plain yogurt? |
Why is this a question? |
