Verizon Wireless increasing plan prices

Anonymous
Verizon just blasted an email that they are increasing prices of plans across the board. I have an older plan, so clearly it is a push to the Unlimited ones, which are sometimes twice more expensive. Which alternatives have you considered? Mint? Visible? TM?, ATT? Any unexpected issues from switching away from Verizon. Other telcos are also likely to follow suit.

I'm getting rid of Verizon as soon as my phone is paid off. I've been a loyal customer for 20+ years but the price just keeps increasing and there are plenty of other options. I will most likely look into a family plan with my parents on AT&T. They just switched from Verizon and cut their bill in half.

My Verizon wireless bill just increased this month, and I was wondering why. Calling them is on my list to do.

There are 3 phones on our plan, and all have been paid off for 1-2 years.

My brother was telling me he got notice his Verizon Fios was increasing to $196/mo!!!! He was asking how we've been liking our Hulu + Live since cutting cable a few years ago.

Verizon prepaid. I pay $60/mo for two lines. I have unlimited, my kid has a data limit (can't remember what it is).

We moved to T-Mobile. Look at their "Essentials" plans which are lower cost.

Moreover, T-Mobile reimbursed us for the cost of paying off our phones early. (Ask at T-Mobile for details about this. One must follow the T-Mobile procedure *exactly* to get the reimbursement.)

We always buy phones outright, so that's not an issue.

Thank you for mentioning this!

Is prepaid cheaper?

Yes. I pay less for 2 lines with prepaid than I would for a single line on a standard Verizon plan.

Moved to Mint, about $15 per line.

You still have to buy service from a provider. That’s the issue we’re discussing.
