when to admit it is more than spotting?

So I had high hopes for this cycle. I had an HSG, two good follicles, triggered, definitely ovulated and timed sex right. I've had a number of "symptoms" I've never had before and thought that this was it. I started spotting 3 days ago. The first two days were definitely spots, the third day was a little heavier and dark red. I go in for a blood test Friday but I think I have to admit to myself that this is more of a "light flow" than spotting.

When is it more than just spotting to you? And please don't tell me when you have to wear a pad or tampon because even with the lightest of spotting I wear a pad because I don't want to stain my underwear, so that is a very useless definition.

Why don't you take a home pregnancy test. It could be spotting, but unfortunately it is probably not, though if you blood test is Friday, it sounds early for AF. If you are PG you should have a positive test by now.

I hope it works for you. Keep your hopes up and keep trying.

I had a similar experience. My doctor said that the brownish blood or pinkish blood could be from implantation spotting. However, if the blood is red like the beginning of your period, it is probably something more. Since you had what you describe as dark red, it's kind of questionable. Have you tried doing a home test? It can't hurt and may give you some peace of mind. Hope everything works out for you.

It seemed wasteful to me to buy a test a day or two before getting blood test results and that I just needed to be patient. Also, if it's 11dpo, isn't that too early for HPT?

I took an HPT and it was negative, of course I know morning is better for testing so I'll try again then. Spotting again today but not as much as yesterday so I don't know.

I'm on day 31 of my cycle, but I ovulated late on day 19, so is it too early for AF or does it seem like AF is on time?
