how to make sesame noodles peanut free

If you want to make sesame noodles peanut-free (due to an allergy), would you use almond butter, tahini or sunflower seed butter in place of the peanut butter in the sauce?

I don’t put peanut butter in my sesame noodles. Not due to peanut allergies but just because they aren’t peanut noodles.

tahini - I find it a good replacement for PB in recipes generally

Tahini. It gives it a flavor more comparable to dan dan noodles/cold sesame noodles. Chili and sesame oils plus rice wine vinegar are clinch. You can also garnish with smashed sunflower seeds, sesame seeds or chili crunch

I use sunflower butter. Some people who are allergic to peanuts are also allergic/sensitive to sesame (tahini), so you might want to ask the person just to be sure.

I'm the poster whose sesame noodles don't contain any kind of nut or seed butter.

Now, I'm curious to see these recipes that have peanut butter or tahini. Maybe they are creamier or otherwise more delicious than mine. Does anyone have one to share?

Since sesame noodles also have sesame seeds, and sesame oil someone allergic to tahini wouldn't be able to eat them anyway.

I can’t share the recipe bc it is paywalled, but I use the NYT recipe. Fyi, many sesame noodle recipes use peanut butter if anyone in your life has a peanut allergy.

I make this dish with Chinese sesame paste, though tahini might suffice. No peanut butter needed.
