Sea cloud or similar?

Has anyone done a cruise on one of these small ships? My spouse really likes being out on the water and has done club level on big cruise lines to get a more catered experience. Im wondering if these small ships would be a better value and experience—could go to smaller ports, maybe swim right off ship? Or maybe I would just constantly feel like the ship is going to flip over? Looks like most of these ships have 60 to 100 passengers.

No experience with the sailing vessels but if their tall character concerns you consider one of the new yacht-like smaller cruise ships recently placed in service by Scenic, Emerald, Ritz-Carlton, and Four Seasons.

My MIL did the Sea Cloud cruise a couple of years ago solo and had an amazing time. She raved about the food and the places they visited. As a family we all did the Lindblad Panama Canal cruise and it was an excellent experience. The ship was lovely, the food amazing. Plenty of activities to do off-ship each morning and afternoon. Everything was included in the price except certain types of alcohol, extras like massages, and the staff tips at the end (which was paid as one amount then split among the whole crew). I would definitely take one of their cruises again, am looking at Galapagos or Alaska.

I like windstar—- both the ones with sails and the ones without. it’s an actual sailing ship but it’s a nice small ship cruise

I was very pleased with our recent Greek Island cruise with Star Clipper and would do another.
