Just saw on MocoShow that there’s a chance of snow tomorrow afternoon. Odds of an early dismissal?
Very unlikely. It takes a LOT for an early release. There id no guarantee parents will show up.
30% chance of LT 1 inch.
No.
None
That’s very wishful thinking.
Yes, because of icy spots in many areas
When do they announce early release by? Is it by 5am or later?
By 10:30 am |
I don’t expect it. It’s happened fewer than ten times since I moved to MoCo in the late ‘90s. It’s incredibly disruptive to schools, which have to rush to change schedules so all kids can be fed lunch. One year that I taught 8th grade, our lunch period was at 12:30. Instead, the cafeteria staff brought sandwiches to all of the 8th grade classrooms at noon while 7th graders ate in the cafeteria. Plus, parents complain. |
What about canceling evening activities? Big parent night planned tonight at my son’s school. Don’t want to miss the info but sounds like there could be a lot of black ice in the dark.
This phrase early release makes it sound like MCPS is a kid prison.
Ha! |
It's snowing in certain parts of the county right now! Call it now, ataykor!
With the cold and the small chance that it snows, I really don’t know why mcps hasn’t made an early dismissal call yet
