| Any concerns about pans “humming” or electromagnetic radiation (especially using the stove while pregnant)? How about ease of use? |
|
Love ours - will never go back to gas! - and have none of those concerns. I have pretty sensitive ears and the humming is barely noticeable.

No regrets. My husband is very very sensitive to sound so I worried about the humming, but it isn’t a problem. We have a large griddle that spans two burners and that is the one pan that hums when first turned on, but not once in use.

| Nope, will never use anything else at home again. |
| We converted 6 months ago and love it. Bonus- my 8 year old now cooks eggs for himself with no assistance. I wouldn’t have let him loose with gas. |

Easier to use than gas, it's just touch controls and you get the exact level of heat you want.
Keeps your indoor air much cleaner than gas. Humming is barely noticable in ours. (We did have a single burner countertop plug in version for a while to test out induction before we switched over and that was much louder. I think the EMF radiation claims are pretty fringe. The dangers of gas are better undersood. And for burn risk, it's safer than gas or regular electric if you have kids in the house. |

Induction has been great, especially for our enameled/cast iron pots/griddle.
I do hear the humming on our 3-ply/stainless pans but only when they're initially warming. I was surprised to read the warning against using induction with a pacemaker. That condition is not applicable to anyone in our family and not something I had seen prior to "unboxing" the range. |
| I can't wait to change out my gas stove with an induction one! |
|
We moved into a house that had an induction stove (previous home had gas; I grew up with electric) and the stove has been a little miracle. I never gave thought to an induction stove but I'll never go back again. Others have covered the positives so I'll discuss the only drawback:
We did have to buy almost all new cookware, but its was well worth it and the stove still works with some of my older cookware (cast iron pans, big soup pot, etc.) |

Does anyone know heating element design difference between the portable version and the high end version.
I used the portable version from Amazon and the heating element seems not consistent temperature. |
I have a portable one (bought during reno) and it’s terrible. Just a piece of crap to cook on. My induction stove is great however. |
| We got induction in our DC home, loved it so much that we got another one for our summer home. Zero regrets. |
| No regrets. I cleaned grease splatters last night and I was done in less than 5 min. I really dreaded cleaning our gas range before. It took forever. Air quality is much improved now that the oven and range are both electric. And way faster as well. I’m at a high altitude and it used to take a long time for water to boil. |
| Really love induction - ours was newly installed about 9 months ago. Many of our pots were already compatible. It is so fast and responsive plus easy to clean. I hear a hum sometimes but as someone sensitive to sounds it never bothers me, just sometimes hear it. |
| We have dual fuel w/ gas and induction. I don’t think I’ve used the gas in 2 years. Love the induction |
