What is going on at Springbrook High School?
I heard last year had a large staff turnover, and this year several teachers have quit mid-year. Looking for insight as we are considering a special program at the school for our youngest but if there is consistent turnover, I don't want them to have a rocky/inconsistent learning experience. |
| Is Principal Valentine running them out of the building? |
That's my understanding. |
| Most likely admin pushing them harder when they have to donate double overtime. I did the math. In the first 5 years of teaching with Masters degree you are going to basically work 70-80 hr per week and it will equate to about 14 dollars per hour and not counting how a lot of jobs do time and a half after 40 hours. The amount of stress and responsibility not to mention constant threat of violence and admin telling you you're not good enough; for 14 dollars per hour. Sheesh,. This profession is a scam. |
| I can’t comment on Springbrook specifically, but my first thought is admin. The administration sets the tone for a school, and a terrible administration is often why teachers flee. Ineffective, dramatic administrations are the only reason I’ve ever left a school. |
That’s so sad. |
| One of my admin recently passed away. He was a bully and karma came back to bite him. |
Oh my, a current staff member died? That is terrible! |
| Cancer. He worked so many decades of stress and stressing out his teams with bs initiatives, covering up violence, burning out teachers with mismanagement and insults, such a negative person. He didn't even get to enjoy retirement. Life's too short for people to mistreat other people especially people working 80 hrs per week with volunteer hours out the wazoo. |
