Maryland Juniors Club Experiences

Wanted to get a sense for Maryland Juniors and people's experiences there. I have had a child play there before and our experience was ok but from what i have heard recently experiences have been so bad. They lost so many players this season all of whom decided to go play for other players. There are coaches there who are absolutely rude and discriminatory and i get that we all have favorites but they play favoritism like crazy. In particular there is a coach set (Dawn and Katie) who just treat girls so bad some of them stop playing and others are in tears (and this is not just for play time - they go so out of their way to favor some players that to jsutify themselves they keep on demeaning the other girls - they dont let them play in games, when they do it is to set them up to fail and they are constantly making condescening comments on those same players just because they want to justify their actions).

Owners are aware of it and have been spoken to by parents and still choose to do nothing about it. Which just goes to say they are ok with running the place like that. Some of the horror stories i have heard from colleages/neighbors are just unreal. Plus they break CHRVA Rules (this same coach will only offer you a spot at tryouts if you sign then and there !).

Just seems so unfair to me that they think they can get away with all of this. Parents are forced to stay mum once they are in the season for fear of retaliation and no one knows how to fix it or where to start???
