When do MLSNext clubs form next season teams?

Don't wait until spring. You should be in contact now with coaches to attend practices. Teams will be mostly formed by the time ID sessions start.

ID session dates are TBD, but they will happen probably in late Feb/early March, with teams forming soon thereafter. I think most clubs have an interest link you can fill out now, which you need to do now. Don't wait until Spring/Summer; that is too late.

You don’t have to be a unicorn, just very, very good. And even if you are very, very good, it doesn’t guarantee that you will be good enough to be a starter or get much playing time.

I think the starting 11 plus a few regular subs are hard spots to take over. But with 25 max on the roster (for MLSNext at least), you just need to be better than a team’s worst player.

well my kid is definitely game to leave ecnl for mlsnext so they will have to make room.

easier said than done especially at older age groups. hope that unicorn factory you got over there in aldie is out of this world

Not sure why you chuckle. A highly rated 15-year-old midfielder is joining Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt from Achilles FC next month. Can you say the same about your club?

Could be a huge shake up if there are 1 or 2 new MLSN clubs added to the area. Applications close on the 31st. Announcements should come in March to hold tryouts in April.

I think if there is a shakeup, it will be more geographical. There are MD kids going all the way to VA to be in an MLSNext team. As there are VA kids going to MD. Probably local kids going to WV and will try new clubs that are closer. I think if there are new clubs in the DMV, it will be WV that will lose the most.

Frankly, I don’t think there will much of a shakeup. There are enough good kids in this area to field more MLSNext teams.

If the club that gets MLSN doesn't currently have ECNL, then it will be a big shake up. If they are just moving from ECNL to MLSN, there won't be much change because they will keep the majority of the team together.
