Has anyone heard teens/tweens use "brick" as an insult or as slang?

My kid is getting called this with a lot of snickering and meanness and I'm at a loss (as are they) for what it means and if it's a big deal, beyond of course the fact that there is mean intent behind it. I can't find anything on places like urban dictionary that explain it. Is this made up at just our school or something in wider use with a meaning that I should be aware of?

We live in NYC and boys use “brick” to mean “cold” - literally to convey that it is cold with regard to the temperature. It means nothing untoward for teens in Brooklyn.

Sorry that your kid is having to deal with this weirdness. That stinks.

Other slang I have recently heard includes the following (Brooklyn 14 year boy —> standard English translation):
Brick = cold
Dayroom = boring
Frontin’ = Lying (apparently it no longer means “putting up a false facade” and now it just means lying)
TP = too personal (not toilet paper, which is what I thought they were talking about), like someone is being “extra” or over the top
Bussin’ = great
My heart = close friend

It means dumb as a brick. How terrible.

OP and I hope that’s not the case. I followed up and my kid said another kid who’s been saying it told them that it means fat. And the last time my kid got called that, they said “I know what that means, so-and-so says it’s fat and you need to shut up.” They replied no it doesn’t, it means you’re smart, in a snickering way. So maybe they did intend for it to mean dumb as a brick?

This group is also running around calling themselves sigma, but I think in understand that one.

Ugh I hope not. These are 10 and 11 year olds in a co-ed school.

It just means "we don't like you". It doesn't matter if someone thinks I means far or stupid or ugly.

Those kids need the snot beat out of them.
Your kid needs to grey rock them or lay one of them on the floor, depending on ability.

It’s my DD (no idea why I left gender out, sorry) and these are boys who are messing with her. DH and I gave her permission to fight back in a physical way. They deserve a punch to the face or a kick in the crotch.

It disgusts me but I think these are the sort of kids that only understand physical violence. She claims she can’t do it, but in case she is brave enough, I told her to punch them and go straight to the main office and self-report what she did, and we’ll come to pick her up as soon as they call us.

If she throws the first punch she should be prepared to get her ass kicked.

It could mean fat/big boned, like “built like a brick house”

Not fat or big honed in a negative way. Solid and "hot", like the song.

OP added it is her daughter so makes more sense. The kids probably don't really understand it, like the quoted poster.

Don't underestimate the power of a kid who is fed up with the bs.

Since this is being directed towards your daughter, I'm sorry to say it's probably a sexual remark, meaning she's attractive enough to give these guys a ....... Not justifying it, it's pretty degrading and definitely not something I would want directed towards a tween girl

It disgusts me that they would say that let alone in front of a teacher, especially if they only vaguely understand what they’re saying. I hope that DD does punch them. FWIW, she is shrimpy but strong from her sport, and based on our practice together they boys would not be getting up to retaliate if she chose to defend herself.

Those boys are such turdmunchers. I hope they (and their parents!) get their just rewards one day.
