Grocery store with yuca, yautias, llame and cubanelle peppers

Grocery stores around the DMV are boring me to death with their tried and true vegetable and fruit offerings. I want trópical root vegetables. Where can I get them fresh? Why doesn’t Whole Foods sell cubanelle peppers which have a far fresher and better taste than regular green peppers? And mushrooms…what happened to the enoki mushrooms? Beech mushrooms? Where is the variety I see in recipes and I crave?

Have you tried any of the Korean markets? H-Mart, Lotte, etc.?

Try a store in Silver Spring if you're in MD. I get cubanelles and yucca at Giant.

You need to go to ethnic stores for better produce. You can find all that and a lot more. I enjoy looking at all the stuff that is unknown to me and wondering what you do with them. Sometimes I’ll buy some strange vegetable and try it out.

We got to Global Foods often and HMart a bit less. However, my Safeway carries cubanelles and yucca.
