They have relatively low costs for flights. I’ve never flown this airliner.
How was your experience? The 55min Copenhagen layover has me a little nervous. |
I flew them in 2023 to Stockholm, including the layover in Copenhagen, and had no issues. A nice feature is that you can pay a little extra to have the middle seat next to you empty. I think I had the middle seat empty on my way to/from IAD, which was a lot more comfortable than my full flight to London this year. I did not check a bag, though, so I'm not sure how they do with luggage on the layover. |
I have not flown them to London but have flown them to Copenhagen multiple times and I really liked them.
One thing to look at is if you will need any of the add-ons (checked luggage, seat selection, upgrades for more space, etc.). The way they keep the basic economy price low is by separating all those costs out. Generally we fly them when we know we won't have to check bags or will just be checking one bag each way, and when we don't care if we sit together (though we have always wound up sitting together, we've just never paid for early seat selection to guarantee it). The seats with more room really are nicer but unless you are very tall or have a specific need I wouldn't bother. Regarding a short layover in Copenhagen, I believe they can execute it because they have a pretty efficient system at that airport. But I'd also look at how many flights they have to London every day just in case you get bumped due to a late arrival. If they have a decent number of flights and you'd be okay arriving later than expected, I wouldn't sweat it. I was nervous flying them the first time because you never know with budget airlines. But if you want to fly nonstop to Scandinavia they are one of the few options anyway. Now I recommend them. Oh and if you wind up with a longer layover in Copenhagen, I recommend paying for access to the SAS lounge. It's inexpensive but they have showers which is nice. We have used it a few times when arriving on a red eye so that we can shower and rest at the airport in the morning since we won't be able to check into our hotel for several hours. |
I flew with SAS from Paris-Copenhagen-DC with an overnight layover in Copenhagen a few years ago. They were great and provided nice kids meals for my two young kids. I would fly with them again if there was a good deal. |
It feels like a bargain airline. Which is fine, as I'm not a fancy flyer. But the seats weren't leather. |
It is a middle airline. Not budget, not full service. It’ll be fine.
But, you are flying out of your way to get to London via Copenhagen. Their cheapest fares are very restrictive in terms of changes and luggage, so make sure your really know what you are getting and the savings is worth it. |
