Well, no. My synagogue has had police protection since long before the Gaza war began (and our rabbis have been quite critical of the Israeli government since before then, too). We installed permanent metal detectors after someone murdered Jews at a synagogue in Pittsburgh motivated by nothing that had anything to do with Israel at all. And there’s never been an auction of Palestinian land — or any land in Israel, for that matter — there at all.

I think OP is wrong on the facts about the war and about the Kristof column and overly dramatic about the climate for Jews in America, but please don’t try to tell us that the ONLY reason American Jews need security is because of Israel.

Well, no. My synagogue has had police protection since long before the Gaza war began (and our rabbis have been quite critical of the Israeli government since before then, too). We installed permanent metal detectors after someone murdered Jews at a synagogue in Pittsburgh motivated by nothing that had anything to do with Israel at all. And there’s never been an auction of Palestinian land — or any land in Israel, for that matter — there at all.

I think OP is wrong on the facts about the war and about the Kristof column and overly dramatic about the climate for Jews in America, but please don’t try to tell us that the ONLY reason American Jews need security is because of Israel.

Of course, but please realize, Jews are not the only group that needs security at their places of worship in America- please refer to the recent shooting at the Mosque in San Diego. The issue is, zionists believe that they are the only victims and are the only ones entitled to security, and in order to achieve said "security" they must annihilate innocent people in droves (aka genocide).
