I don’t understand why some people here are trying to convince others to stop bashing Emory by bashing Hopkins instead. These are both good schools. Neither is dreary. Both have great student bodies with many happy and impressive students doing a lot of normal college things, including parties and sports and spending time in their respective urban areas. I’ve spent lots of time at both and they both have lovely campuses. Many different, but some overlapping, strong academic programs. Spreading mean and untrue stereotypes about Hopkins isn’t convincing anyone here to like Emory better. I love both schools.

Again, the freshman stats are not impressive. 25% of freshman had GPAs under a 3.74. Only 80% were ranked in top 10%. Emory's freshman are a cut below those of actual top schools.

It's cool to group Emory in with Duke, Vandy, Hopkins, Northwestern etc but then there's reality.

It’s hard to compare apples to oranges. But WashU table says average gpa 3.82, average mcat 516. The applicant standard is high. But this is not a direct comparison.

Also Washu table says there are about 200+ applicants per year. That number is small compared to Emory.

Love WashU and Emory both. Fine with me if one has slightly better results than the other.

Also, the colors are not in red and green which shows your comparisons are not statistically significant. That is not even enough overlap in admits between the schools, which makes sense. There would be exceedingly few that get into MIT that would even consider Emory.

The CDS you cited says only 6% of Emory students receive scholarships or grants. 442/7226=6%
