Data person here, eyeballing the psych sheet, so possible errors follow. https://www.mynvsl.com/file/37005/2025_nvsl_all_star_relay_top_19_psych_pdf —I think Highlands has 9 relays in the top six. Langley has 4 relays in the top six. And Crosspointe has 5 relays in the top six. I fixed it above. —Oakton is #7 four times, which shows how strong that team is. I suspect they go up to D1 next season. — Look at Greenbriar with a one-seed in 15-18 Boys Medley! — High Point Pool and Rolling Hills have 2 relays in the top six. — Super close top-seeds include: Boys Mixed relay (1-3 are close) Boys 11-12 Medley (1-2 and 4-6 are close) Boys 9-10 Medley (3-6 are close) Girls 11-12 Medley (2-6 are super close) Girls 13-14 Medley (2-6 are super close) Girls 15-18 Medley (4-6 are close) Boys 15-18 Medley (1-4 are super close) Boys 8U Free (2-3 and 5-6 are close) Girls 9-10 Free (2-3 and 4-5 are close) Boys 9-10 Free (1-2 and 5-6 are close) Girls 11-12 Free (holy cow that D1 race must have been nuts!) Boys 11-12 Free (2-3 are close) Boys 13-14 Free (2-3 and 4-6 are close) Boys 13-14 Free (4-6 are close) Girls 15-18 Free (1-2 and 5-6 are close) Boys 15-18 Free (1-3 and 4-6 are so close) — Wakefield Chapel 8U Girls are fire! —Other notable top 6 relays: Hamlet - 1 Dunn Loring - 1 Ravensworth Farm - 1 Hiddenbrook - 1 SHRA - 1 Parklawn - 1 (a two seed) South Run - 1 Little Rocky Run - 1 Lee Graham - 1 Dominion Hills (D8) - 1 (Greenbriar, D10, mentioned above) - 1 Little Hunting Park - 1 Fairfax Club Estates (D12) - 1 Parklawn - 1 Sleepy Hollow BR - 1 Mantua - 1 Canterbury Woods - 1 Parliament (D14, woot woot!) - 1 |
That was a lot of work! |
Rolling Hills has 3 in the top 6. |
|
Fairfax (2) one-seeds, both 15-18 Girls relays. |
PVS meets seem to _avoid_ Saturday mornings, which limits A meet conflicts. Are you thinking only of meets further afield? Because it's often possible to get back from those and swim summer team as well if a swimmer is committed to doing so. I've seen it done. |
I shouldn’t have missed that one, my child swims at the same club as (at least) one of those swimmers. So sorry! |
Data person I love you! And the commentary. Love how you included all the teams and not just the name brand teams others focus on. |
There have been a few. A Machine meet in June and NCAP Elite Qualifier last weekend all had events on Saturday and many swimmers mixed NVSL. This weekend is PVS open champs, also on Saturday. |
Some of the meets like the Mach June meet held the distance session on Saturday afternoon to mitigate conflicts. For PV champs it’s trickier this season with the incorporation of 50s to the event schedule. |
14 and Under Champs is not having any swimming on Saturday, which I am assuming is because they are deferring to summer swim. I don’t think Junior/Senior champs is as concerned with summer swim. By the time swimmers are no longer age groupers they are generally less concerned with conflicts between club meets and summer meets. |
Plus it’s only senior champs that is affected as junior champs is in the afternoon. The only people swimming a Summer League Dual meet over Senior Champs are just the super talented very uncommitted swimmers which are not the ones younger swimmers should be looking to duplicate. |
Kids in Junior champs are not swimming Saturday morning. |
I know to who are. I'm not saying they should be, but they are. Leaving before s relays... |
Junior Champs warmups are at noon on Saturday. Anyone from NoVa would probably need to leave NoVa around 11am or earlier. Of course the swimmer could later and warm up in the 25y pool and swim a later event. |
