This isn't an "overdose." It's legit poisoning. And it's an epidemic right now.

Every parent of a teenage kid should have narcan at their home. Your kids should be sent off to college with narcan. They never know when they might need it for themselves, a roommate, or a random stranger.

If this homeowner had a supply of Narcan in his home, he likely would've been able to stop his own symptoms and save all his friends.

Ok, but is this a real thing that middle aged men are doing, when they're sitting at someone's house watching football? I mean, one of these men had three children! Maybe I'm completely naive, but my husband (also a father of three) and someone who definitely watches football with his friends, is drinking whisky, not randomly doing cocaine.

Some do, but most don't. I bet most of the guys did not use it habitually, but they were probably offered some by the host of the party and thought "Why not?" It's an evening away from their families and responsibilities. Under normal circumstances, it's short acting and not dangerous (unless you're doing large amounts or have pre-existing comorbidities).

This is a cautionary tale that doing drugs obviously has unintended consequences.

Sadly it also can leave family members out in the cold, all alone too.

The guy was superficially a responsible guy with a grown up job. He was clearly sleeping off his near OD for two days and freaked the fck out when he realized what happened. Moving out and directly into rehab seems like the world’s most normal next step to me.

I haven’t heard anything new regarding this story, but truthfully I didn’t really expect to.

I never suspected foul play in any way, shape or form.
I just assumed a bunch of 30-something’s all got together one Sunday to watch some football 🏈 and stupidly (mutually) also decided to get high while doing so.

The three men that died likely went outside to smoke & they probably all died from an overdose.

The one guy who was inside likely fell into a deep sleep (due to the drug usage) which explained why he never saw his buddies dead in his backyard for days.

I don’t think he would have a motive to murder his three friends.
Or opportunity since he likely was too passed out.

Sadly the guys who died outdoors likely all OD’d at about the same time.
This was/is an excellent example of why people should stay faarrr away from any + all drugs!

The guy inside was likely close to overdosing himself which could explain how he slept two entire days.
And since he likely was asleep the entire two days - it is not surprising that he never looked out his backyard window.

Also nothing is suspicious about him storing his belongings in storage, then going into rehab.

Almost overdosing on Fentanyl yourself while learning three of your friends were found dead in your backyard is enough of a reason to seek professional help.

People speculating that he injected the drugs into his friends was the dumbest idea.
The loved ones just needed to accept the fact that their deceased loved one did drugs that night……they did it on their own free will and at their age(s) had the ability to leave or at minimum, choose not to partake in getting high.

They were likely taking what they thought was "Percocet" but really was just a phony street pill that had fentanyl as the active ingredient. The guy who survived already had a tolerance to fentanyl/opiates, so this is why he survived whereas it killed his friends who were just normie dads with no tolerance to the drug.

I'm curious if the police will charge the survivor with their deaths and for distribution of narcotics. They will need to find proof that he provided the pills the to the men. Police and DAs usually try to hold the distributors responsible for the accidental overdose deaths of others.

you don't really develop a tolerance for fentanyl. The amount needed to overdose is so minuscule. It's more likely that other guy did not take any of the fentanyl laced pills.

So what are you suggesting? That he drugged his friend?

Or are you suggesting the drug dealer who supplied him the pills “laced” some of the pills with fentanyl for funzies? Because fentanyl isn’t free and why would a drug dealer just give it away for free?

The most likely scenario is this guy had a tolerance and/or just lucked out. I have no doubt everyone involved probably knew they were laced and the dude who bought them convinced them they’d be fine, he takes them all the time.
