| Rumors that St. James will be reducing the number of teams. Apparently, St. Albans has signed a lease for the rink. Any truth to the rumors? |
|
Only other place I’ve seen this rumor is on one of the local FB hockey pages where I’m guessing you read it or posted it?
|
| This is not true. They are not doing a few Selects teams but the number of competitive A and AA teams is remaining the same across all age groups. |
| If you look at their webpage, they are actually increasing the number of travel teams slightly. They are just cutting a few selects teams who play in the local CCHL at the house league level. |
| I don’t see any evidence of that. Where on their site is that? |
| Under the tryouts for next season. |
| Confirmed but not advertised yet - St James bought Little Caps. Moving house and selects teams to Mt Vernon to make ice time for WLC teams |
|
St. Albans rink use has no impact on Travel Hockey at STJ.
Little Caps moving in will. I'm dreading what that will do to the Travel Hockey program. |
Isn’t Nova supposed to be moving back to Mount Vernon? Hard to see how Mount Vernon has enough ice for both programs. I won’t miss parking at the St James but if their facility isn’t available for their teams then they shouldn’t be allowed to play in the CBHL anymore. |
| I really hope that STJ management address these rumors soon. |
Off topic, but is it possible to tryout for Little Caps and TM? It looks challenging, as sessions are at the same time. Just wondering since the permanent rink location is unknown. |
They have. They sent out an email over the weekend to current hockey families |
Yes they should have teams back next season but they will be building for awhile and recognize that. Also Mt Vernon will have 2 sheets now. |
Follow up to add that they also have it on their website https://thestjameshockey.com/ |
| For the PP who seems “in the know” - are you saying that STJ bought ice time at Mt Vernon for next year? |
