It’s smaller group which is nice but there were also some kids that were def not middle schoolers. It was a good intro to beach and a great new way to workout. Kiddos then tried a summer tournament in dc and found that was not for them. The intense summer heat was not their thing. It was also against adults who were dropping like flies in the heat, but beach tourney especially in the heat of VA summer requires a lot of stamina. Beach is an AMAZING way to build indoor skill and a sport all on its own. Might depend on what you are trying to get out of it as to which is right for you.
Thanks, DD (sophomore) is looking for something this summer to up her chances of making her HS varsity team by building up her fundamentals, getting touches and keeping in shape while also taking a break from indoor vb. She's never played beach before.
