Between Burlington VT and DC

Anonymous
DH and I are dropping off DC in Burlington this summer and we'd like to find a nice place to stop for a couple nights on the way home. Any suggestions? Some place relaxing, pretty, good food. We don't want to stay in Burlington.

Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz if you want old school and your budget is generous.

Woodstock is out of the way and isn't at all close to halfway. Agree with Hudson Valley but I'd stay closer to I-87 personally.

Stay close to I-87 if it's one night just to get some sleep. If OP wants to explore and relax a bit, Hudson is under 20 minutes from the thruway.

Assuming they're dropping their kid off at UVM their budget better be generous. $67,252 for out of state tuition and room and board. Wow!

Good point. Mohonk, Hudson and Rhinebeck are all within 15-20 minutes of 87.

Saratoga Springs is perfect - it's where we always stop between Burlington and DC. Cute downtown area - fun things to see and do.

UVM gives generous OOS merit scholarships which can bring the cost down significantly.
