I have long, fine hair that is a mix of 2b-3a waves and curls. And it is soooo dry. And flat.
It looks good early the day, until I've been out and about. And then it is flat, dull, and so dry looking & feeling. It is like flat, frizzy straw. Any product recommendations to help? |
| Olaplex the entire line. Also k18 and keraton treatments. Talk to your hair stylist about it. |
| Do you spritz with water throughout the day? And add a little leave in conditioner or curl cream as the day goes? |
I do use a spray bottle with a water + curl cream on non wash days. Today it looked great until I went outside. But ... I WFH. Maybe I should spritz again mid day after I go for my walk. |
Try that! Sometimes it makes a big difference for me. Sometimes, alas, not. But def worth trying. If my hair is looking limp and dry I do sometimes spray in a bit more leave in conditioner, too. Not that I have the hair of anyone's dreams, but these things have helped. Are you happy with your cut? |
| Try a humidifier. |

Do you air dry or use a blow dryer?
What products do you use? |

This works well on my fine, dry hair - it doesn't weigh it down

| Aveda cherry almond products are amazing and soften hair and make it manageable. I’ve used this line for over 20 years and always come back if I stop using them. |
| Kiehls Olive oil hair mask will bring your hair back. |

Thanks for the suggestions!
- I sleep with a humidifier - I air dry and mostly use Aveda products. For styling I use their curl cream and sometimes add gel for more definition. - I am happy with the cut. Recently chopped a few inches and invested in a good curly cut. This morning, it looked soft, shiny, and wavy but now, after awhile at the park with my dog, is floating all around like I stuck my finger in a socket. It wasn’t windy. The dry air just kills it! |

You need to use a hair mask—probably once a week or every other week.
And you shouldn’t wash your hair everyday. |

Same. My issue is likely menopause -- my hair is so dry and coarse and wavy, and never was any of those things before.
I haven't figured this out. Olaplex makes it worse for me. Leave in conditioner spray (Aveda) helps a bit, but weighs it down and it feels dirty within a day or so when I use it. |

I have 3b/4a hair. I use a silk pillowcase and run the humidifier. In addition, I use an argan oil deep conditioner every week. I also put my hair in big twists midway through the week and spritz with an oil/water mixture. During other days, I might apply a little water and shea butter to touch up dry spots.
Try to not let your dry hair touch any natural fabrics like cotton as it will wick away moisture. Keeping my hair in a bun helps it from drying out just from touching my top. |
| PP - I swear by old school Alberto V05 hot oil treatment. I’m back to using this weekly. Sometimes tough to find so I buy online. |
