Would love some ideas. I have the spanx air black wide leg pants and top but I find them chilly and tough to keep off floor in lavatory. Flying to a cold climate so want something that looks fairly nice and is warm and comfy for sleeping. Also would love shoe/boot recommendations. Thanks! |
vuori joggers. love them! |
WoolX leggings, a t-shirt, a long cashmere cardigan and a scarf (wool but not an outdoor wool scarf). Comfortable, allows for flexibility depending on temps, can use the scarf different ways but looks decent enough on arrival. |
Warmer destination- Body suit with flare legs, roll up when in bathroom. Money belt under body suit. Cashmere/wool sleeveless mock neck sweater over bodysuit. Cashmere wrap.
Colder destination- same as above but thin wool sweater with long sleeves and turtleneck and wool cardigan over that or thin down jacket. |
Shoes The North Face or Kodiak brand Canada.
Higher end boots could work but not necessary. I just got back from a cold weather area first class tickets no one was wearing anything but sweats oversized hoodies etc. Clothing Lulu or Vuori in a cream color classic No to long cashmere horrible in the bathroom on a plane. You could do a cashmere hoodie and some comfy pants with cute boots |
+1 to Woolx pants. I like both the leggings and the straight leg. |
Another vote for Vuori joggers - they're the best. I combine with a soft sleeveless top, a long sleeved layer (cardigan) and scarf. The temperature differential between airports and airplanes can be huge and layers is a key. For on the plane I also bring warm socks, a good eye mask, and a lightweight blanket (a large scarf can work for this purpose). |
i am always too warm on airplanes, but this is what I wear for my winter euro flights because, it does get a little cold midway through the flight:
1. my extremely lightweight nylon skinny joggers that come in at the ankle (the brand changed the design to make it much more dowdy, grrrr). This is not the time for wide legged droopy pants. 2. layers: short sleeved loose crew neck t shirt, then a long sleeved v neck t shirt on top, and a light full zip down sweater. I also bring my heavy winter coat on the airplane but usually manage to stuff it in the overhead compartment. 3. blundstone chelsea boots OR sneakers. 4. smartwool socks (with another pair in my bag to change into when I get to my destination): keeps my feet warm and dry I try to coordinate my outfit so everything is in tones of navy or black Scarves seem like a good idea in theory but mine always drag on tthe ground and just end up being more annoying than helpful, thought were I a more graceful gazelle type person, I am sure it would be nice. I guess this goes without saying, but all those clothes go straight into the washer when I arrive and I switch into my Euro city clothes. If I wore blundstones on plane, i switch to sneakers and vice versa, to give my feet a break. |
Thanks for info everyone- I ordered the Vuori joggers. I looked at the Woolx pants but they don't have my size at this time... Will wear the joggers with a long sleeve t-shirt, cashmere sweater and a scarf. Will bring my black long puffer on plane as a blanket and also bring a night mask and wool socks. |
On my recent trip to Rome, I wore charcoal Vuori joggers, a t-shirt, and a cream-colored Faherty fleece quarter-zip. I was warm and comfortable on the plane and then when I got there, took off the fleece (it was summer). In the winter, I might do a long-sleeve top and add a scarf. |
Leggings so you don't have to worry about the bathroom issue. Change when you get to the airport or your hotel. |

![]() Something similar to this, a long hoodie dress with leggings and boots. My favorite is a brand called Wool& "Everett" style. https://wooland.com/products/everett-hoodie-tunic-aurora-blue-heather?variant=41690435911750&utm_source=google&utm_medium=paid&utm_campaign=shop_brand&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiAyoi8BhDvARIsAO_CDsBHSZD2YTSAIa3baN1PcUhzzmme7Zu8CZy9WTG3LEbkByHbzJZi8vcaAvXBEALw_wcB |
This. Except the T-shirt is long-sleeved. |
I like cargo pants, the kind that is more like joggers or has some sort of drawstring at the bottom. |
OP here- I received and am wearing the Vuori joggers right now- I like them but think my legs will be way too cold on plane (I'm average weight but I run cold...). I'll either wear base layer leggings under them or just wear my fleece leggings from uniqlo... |
