MCPS is open every year on Columbus/Indigenous People Day. They aren’t part of the federal government and don’t need to close for federal holidays, although they often choose to. |

| If they don't, Fed parents can get the day off without kids at home after three days at home with kids! If they do close Thurs for funeral or for weather related, they should just give the whole week off. |
