So I need some ideas for a 7 day trip with a friend who has not done much extensive traveling. She has been to Ireland and Italy (with her family) and we have been to Germany and Austria (where I'm from). I have been to every country in Europe except Latvia, so I don't care *that much*.
I'm looking for some help maybe from people who have are maybe a little less well travelled. I know she really isn't too excited about Paris and has asked me not to plan that. (I suggested Nice/Canne/St Tropez as "Paris Light"...) March, so weather is always iffy. I'm leaning towards cities simply because there is more to do if the weather is crappy. What do you all think? |
London and Amsterdam with the train? Each city is kind of built for meh weather so lots to do regardless. |
In March -- maybe Spain? Barcelona? Andalusia? Basque country? |
Portugal |
What's her goal of visiting Europe? I would suggest going back to Italy unless she loves snow/mountains, but it really depends on why you are going to Europe. |
PP again. Also UK (with focus on London), but I don't know if that counts are Europe ![]() |
I'd say Seville but it will be very busy if it coincides with Easter. |
What about Athens or Istanbul. Those would be good to visit before they get too hot. |
Agree Athens would be wonderful then. I went in Feb.
Bologna so you can take short train trips everywhere. Lisbon, Coimbra, Porto in Portugal. Brussels, Antwerp, Ghent. |
