We're hoping to travel to Paris the end of June, and could really use the space and kitchenette features of an apartment. However, given how warm the last few summers have been in Paris, we'd also like a/c for sleeping. Reading reviews, the mobile units seem to do very little, and there seem to be very few apartments with central a/c or mini splits (the mini splits seem to be much more common in other places in Europe). Does anyone have suggestions for lodging? Or specific hotels that might work? |
Parisian here: no you don't need AC in June. Just go and have fun. |
Note the post said the end of June. Some of the recent heat waves have been during that period. In 2019 (during the Women's World Cup) it was over 100 in Paris for a couple of days. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/europe-heat-wave-2019-france-temperature-record-paris-forecast-spain-italy-100-degrees-today-2019-06-28/ |
Our Airbnb had the splits and it was perfectly comfortable. I just filtered on the website to only include A/C. I actually don't recall very many listings with mobile units, mostly splits. |
If you liked your rental any chance you’d share it? |
Our AirBnB in Paris had fans in every room (3, parents plus 2 kids), and we were fine during the Olympics last summer |
I found if you filtered for AC and then paid attention you could figure out which were using the mobile units. |
Thanks, sounds like I need to take another look at rentals. |
We stayed in late June during a heat wave at Hotel Noaille in Paris. AC, two adjoining rooms and great location. |
You do need AC then. Just in case |
Les Patios du Marais |
https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/6921651?source_impression_id=p3_1736192649_P3tjZQvNbgBeD9wJ It's tucked away near government buildings and high end retail, so not the classic Parisian neighborhood. But it's walkable to several metro stops and landmarks. We had no issues getting around. It also has a washer/dryer combo and A/C, which isn't always easy to find. I'd recommend for older kids - tweens or teens - because you will end up walking more than if you were in the heart of things. |
OP here, thank you all! |
