Per day or per week?
If you don’t watch TV, what do you do in the evenings? |
|
A ton!
I love Tv. I’d say 4 hours on weekdays and all day on weekends … 8 hours |
| My wife and I watch an episode of a series most nights, either an hour or a half hour depending on the show. On weekends, I'll watch a movie or a couple episodes of a TV show with my kid as well. |
Sounds pretty similar to DH and me. The teens watch more - usually old tv series on Netflix or something. |
Same!! |
Ditto! |

I have loved watching the football on TV this fall and early winter on so many days at different times. I will miss it in February!
Otherwise, I watch old Datelines and Food TV and fat shows mindlessly while I am doing other things. There are no series I am interested in watching anymore. We don’t stream much at all. |
| I don't watch tv. I come home, make dinner and/or take my kids to their sports, listen to an audiobook, doomscroll a bit, then go to bed. |
|
Usually an hour or two. My spouse got me hooked. I barely watched TV after college and in fact, I didn't own one when we met.
I should shift to more reading, I have several books I have been meaning to get to but get distracted by my shows. |
|
Maybe a couple hours per week with the family.
Nothing against it but there’s very little that interests me—prefer reading. Not a humble brag, I honestly wish I could find more that I like. I feel like I’m missing out on things that become big cultural phenomena, but when I check them out, they’re just not my thing. |
| Very little, but seems to come in waves—ie we are into a particular show. Most nights it’s prep dinner, take kid to sports, read or walk during their practice, eat dinner, clean up, and read until I fall asleep thirty seconds later holding my book. |
I’ve not looked at other replies. I don’t watch it often. If watching a series maybe an episode or 2 a day 3-4 days a week.p I can also go a month without turning it on. If something catchy like Bridgerton or Black Cake I may occasionally binge watch. I have friends who are always watching something —every night—which I don’t understand. I find a lot boring and would rather have quiet. When my dc was younger we’d watch a show together and would see an episode or so a night. They now watch without me (sadly). I never watch the news. I don’t want to be bombarded. I read the digital NYT or Washington Post. |
| Not tv technically, we don’t have one. I watch streaming services on the computer, maybe 45 mins-1.5 hrs a day maximum. When I don’t watch something, I read a book or read the news or deep dive into science articles. |
| During the week almost none. Weekends Dh and I will watch a show or movie after bed, I prefer to read. Similar to PP I kinda wish I liked tv better. |
| Our TV is plugged. I do watch an occasional Netflix on phone or tablet. Maybe 1-2 hours a week. I read.. |
