How many days after DPO will a positive show up with a blood test?

anywhere after about 10 or 11 dpo...but most dr.'s like to wait until about 12-14 dpo.

that does help. is there a way though to show that you might be pregnant like with the rising HSG levels that I see people talk about on this board? i have my first re appt tomorrow and should be 4 dpo-would they be able to determine that i am definitely not pregnant since hsg would be low or that i might be or is this too early?

4dpo is just too early to test. The fertilized egg has to implant in your uterus and after that, the pregnancy hormone hCG (not HSG) will begin to show up in your blood and urine. At 4 dpo, implantation hasn't occurred; it is typically 7-10dpo. It could happen earlier but it's unlikely so there's really no point in doing a blood test at 4 dpo.

I agree with PP...you won't implant until 7-10 dpo, so you won't have HCG in your system until 9dpo at the earliest. There are some women that implant earlier, but that is very, very, very rare. During your RE appointment, they will likely tell you to wait for your next period.
