Looking for recommendations for all-inclusive resorts in the Dominican Republic that are safe, 3 stars and affordable. This is for my college age daughter and her friends for Spring Break. Thank you! |
I'm not convinced "Dominican Republic" and "safe" and "affordable" all go together. |
Club Med Miches if they can afford it. |
What’s affordable? I’d get on Travelocity or something like that and put in your budget. |
Club med Punta Cana is an affordable choice. It’s not fancy. But it is affordable and close to airport |
This is just asking for trouble. |
Not safe. Read up about people being served bad drinks. |
Barcelo Bavaro Palace has college kids for spring break |
We did Hard Rock Punta Cana with our kids and had a great time.
|
Why not go to Puerto Rico instead? At least it’s US soil
Took my kids to a DR resort and was fine and thought it was great but I’d never let kids go on their own. PR is nicer but same “vibes” |
I wouldn’t want a college student in Punta Cana even at the Club Med, way too easy to get to the other resorts and the spring break college crowd isn’t great. If you’re going to do DR Club Med I’d spend the extra money on Miches. |
Dreams |
This is not a hot spot for high school senior spring break. |
The DR is not safe regardless of where one stays but especially not safe for young American women. If you send your daughter? you need to accept that you may never see her again or that she will be irreversibly changed for the worse. No, I am not being dramatic. |
Sounds like you’re speaking from personal experience? What happened? |
