Omni Amelia Is. surprised me in a way that I didn’t expect. The room reminded me of a Best Western room that smelled of mold. Curtains were actually moldy.
The big surprise came right outside de main lobby: the smell of pot. Can anyone tell me if this is a normal resort practice at these resorts? |
When Omni took over the Homestead it went majorly downhill. It went from luxury vibes to feeling like a cheap days in. So I’m not surprised |
Pot is everywhere.
We were at a luxury resort with fancy pants people and each night we smelled pot coming from people smoking at nearby villas. We had left our balcony door open while we were at dinner and our villa reeked of pot coming from below. So gross. |
Omni is massively overpriced for what it is. |
Omni has good marketing. Always looks better than it is, at least their resorts. Their hotels seem fine enough. |
This. Same thing at Omni Bedford springs. Omni is definitely not luxury. |
I like the homestead! We had a great room and a good time. |
Same. And I thought the grounds and the huge main lobby was fancy (and I loved the history tour of the place). |
Is there any chance Marriott or Hilton buy Omni?
|
I’ve never been there but Amelia Island is in northern Atlantic coast Florida - I just wouldn’t have expected much based on that alone, doesn’t matter who owns or operates
|
What? That’s a weird thing to say. |
lol. People get such a kick by pretending they’re superior to places. OK lord grantham, the homestead is adjacent to a days inn.. sure. |
All the Omnis I've been in have been fine, but nothing special. They feel like generic business hotels. |
No it’s not. I’m from there and it’s just a more dated, less trendy area. People’s expectations aren’t as high and there’s also a Ritz in town so that’s considered the luxury one. I feel like a lot of Fl resorts have a level of this dampness and something that takes away from it being higher end. |
There are some nice Omnis though. |
