Has anyone ever gone to MV for Spring Break? I have only been late summer. I am wondering what the island feels like at the end of March early April. TIA |
It’s cold. In recent years daytime stays around 60s-ish. It can be colder in the 40s/50s in cold years. Water is cold at that time, not Maine cold but cold enough that no one is in the water in my experience. The island is far quieter than summer. |
The Farmer’s Almanac says it will be warmer. |
I've been there for spring break because we have a house there.
It will be totally different than the summer but if you want to go hiking or walking on the beach you can do that and enjoy the lack of crowds. Many, but certainly not all, restaurants and other stores are open year round now. The Martha's Vineyard Museum is great and that will be open. Just don't expect warm weather. |
It will be cold and miserable, with almost nothing open except the year round businesses,. |
It’s not 60ish on MV in March or early April. It’s in the 60’s in May and early June. |
Op here. Ugh. I better keep looking around. I don’t mind colder nights but was hoping close to 60 during the day. |
Thanks. It sounds like it would be perfect besides the colder weather. I was hoping for at least 60 during the day. |
55 is the avg high in Mar-Apr |
A quiet island sounds perfect! |
Nope Op. It's cold and water is colder. Lots of things closed. |
I've been there in mid April. It is very cold, not much to do, and lots of stuff is closed. Definitely bring your car |
We own a house there and were there in March during COVID. Don’t do it. Too cold. Too cold and windy to bike or walk on the beach. All the towns will have *something* open, but there will be lots closed. |
Op here! Okay. It’s out. Thanks all. |
This. It will be in the 40s in March/early April. And gray. |
