Hire travel agent to plan Disney activities?

Anonymous
Already have hotel (on site) and flights booked, need to plan what to do on specific days (staying 7 nights in March) and meal reservations. Haven’t been to Disney for 30 years. I understand that the ride reservation system on the app recently changes.

Should I hire someone online to help me plan the days, or is this something I can figure out myself in fewer than six total hours?

Part of me wants to just show up and figure it out then, but I have heard that planning ahead pays off for Disney.

Thanks!

Are you spending 7 days in the park? If so you have plenty of time to do everything

We just returned. With an on-site hotel, you can book Lightning Lanes 7 days in advance. It's easy. I don't think you need a travel agent. Also, be sure to book your dining in advance if you have little kids and want to have a character experience.

For Dining
If you truly don’t care where and when you eat, sure. But we had someone do dining reservations for us once and I ended up changing quite a few of her selections to better suit us. Might as well have done it myself. The reservation system is not at all complicated.

For Reserved Activities
Same as dining IMO. They’re easy to book. You have to do some research anyway to figure out which ones, if any, you want to book. Might as well book them while you’re looking.

For Disney+/Lightning Lane Stuff
Read some blogs and watch some recent videos to learn the current system so you know how to use it on your own each day. This is something you really want to understand if you’re going to be paying for. Many people waste it.

You can figure it out in less than six hours. It will take some time, but not that much.

Youtube videos might be helpful, they were for me. I'd link them, but the whole lightning lane thing has changed since then, so what I watched wouldn't help you.

You can do this.

Okay, thanks all!

Most travel agents for Disney work on a no-fee/commission for room basis, so if you have already booked your room+tickets, they won’t work with you. Save yourself the time and just figure it out yourself
