What's the latest in childbirth classes in view of a possibly pain-med free birth?

I took the 12 class Bradley method, many years ago, and it was extremely informative about stages of labor, visualizing contractions and breathing. I ignored the "doctors are interventionist morons" vibe. I did go on to have a birth without pain medication, in a hospital.

Now I'm pregnant again, 15 years later (!), and wondering if I should take the same class, or whether there's anything as informative and thorough out there. I notice my old Bradley instructor isn't in practice anymore and it seems this method in general has fallen out of favor, so there are few practitioners in the DC area.

Any recommendations are appreciated.

I took some birthing kind of class 10 years that cost something like $600. Also read Ina May Gaskin's books, that were about $10 including shipping. Her books and free videos on YT were many times more useful.

I think if you’ve done it without meds once - you can do it again. I’ve done it 3x without meds. It’s tough each time frankly but doable.

I’d pay the money for a doula instead.

Unless you have back labor, stalled labor, a malpositioned baby, need a C section, etc.

Bradley is sexist drivel. He compared women’s birth performances to cows.
