Why is there a LC meet this weekend?

I know that it is SC season, but was wondering if there is a reason to have a LC meet right now? Are swimmers trying to get a LC time for some upcoming meet? Just curious.

I’ve always wondered the same but we are headed there tomorrow. My swimmer hates swimming LC right after the break.

Just tradition. AAC has done it a few years now.

Cool. I was wondering as well. I thought it might some qualifier for something.

I would not think that coming off a break would be a good time for such a meet.

The teenagers coming off winter champs are generally NOT going to go any SCY best times in January. This gives them a chance to see a time drop from last August.
