I tested positive for Lupus Anticoagulants, and am at higher risk of repeated miscarriages, clots and preeclampsia. My OB prescribed a generic of Lovenox, to be injected into the belly every single day. Eek!
Is there anyone on here who has done this? Any tips, tricks, recommendations? Thank you. |
I had to do this 6 weeks post C-section. It hurts and burns. It sucks. It was worse than pio shots for me during IVF. For some reason they say don't ice it before. Just fast and get it over with. Set alarms it needs to be same time each day. Mine went into my thighs. |
OP here. OK I just went to the OB nurse to have my first shot (in my belly fat). I did it myself under their direction. It was easy, but uncomfortable for 5 minutes afterward. From now until the end of my pregnancy, I will need one injection a day. Oof. |
I did it for my husband after he had a saddle block embolism.
He had a little pooch of belly fat below his navel and I started there. Kind of gently pinch it as a target. He didn't seem to mind. |
I did it daily through 2 full term pregnancies, 2 additional first trimesters of pregnancies that didn't make it, and with my other injections through a round of IVF. I did it first thing in the morning so it became part of my routine. The worst part for me was having to continue for 6 weeks postpartum each time. By then I was WAY over it. You can do it!!! |
PP again. Forgot to say that when I was in postpartum part of the hospital, when the nurses brought it in, I told them I wanted to inject it myself. They were respectful of that. I didn't want anyone touching my belly! |
